Which stock is best for a framed 5×7 portrait?
Matte is the usual pick behind glass, since gloss on top of glass doubles the reflections. 14pt matte and 16pt matte both work; 16pt is stiffer. For a textured look choose 13pt linen, or 18pt kraft for a warm, muted tone.
Do I need to add bleed to my 5×7 photo file?
If your image runs to the edge, build the file with the usual extra 0.125 inch on each side so trimming never leaves a white sliver. If it doesn't, send the image as-is. Every file is checked for resolution, bleed and color before it prints.
