How long does copyright registration take?
Standard processing at the U.S. Copyright Office runs about 6 to 8 months. Expedited processing is available and usually completes in 2 to 5 weeks. Either way we track the application and send on your certificate when it issues.
What do you need from me?
The final manuscript or published file as your deposit copy, the author and claimant details, and the publication date if the book is already out. We prepare the form, review it with you before filing, and submit the deposit copy.
Can I register a series or a collection at once?
Published books, unpublished manuscripts, collections and series are all eligible. A pre-filing consultation is included, so you can work out which option fits your work before the application goes in rather than after.
