Gallery Mounting Services: questions
What is the difference between float, dry and face mounting?
Float mounting lifts the piece off the backing so its edges show, which suits deckled edges and works on paper. Dry mounting bonds the print flat to an acid-free board for a smooth, wave-free surface. Face mounting bonds the front of the print to clear acrylic for a glossy, depth-filled look with no visible frame.
Is your mounting safe for original artwork and valuable prints?
The materials and methods follow museum specifications: acid-free boards, aluminum composites, acrylic glazing with UV filtering, and archival mounting methods. For originals, conservation framing keeps the mounting reversible. Tell us what the piece is and we'll recommend the safest approach.
How do I order mounting for an exhibition with many pieces?
Order one piece at a time, or contact us with the full list and we can plan the show together. For each piece tell us the size, whether it is an original or a print, the mounting type and glazing you want, and whether you need labels or installation consulting. Each piece is ready in 5 business days.
