Which paper weight is best for an embossed business card?
Go thicker. 18pt or 32pt stock gives the press enough material to form a clean, deep relief, while 14pt shows a shallower impression. If you plan to emboss a large area or fine detail, 32pt keeps the card flat and the edges of the emboss crisp.
How do I show which parts of my design should be embossed?
Send your print file at 3.5" x 2" with 0.125" bleed, plus a second layer or file that shows the emboss area as solid black vector shapes. Keep embossed elements at least 0.125" from the trim edge and avoid hairline strokes, which do not hold a relief.
How many embossed cards should I order, and when are they ready?
Choose 100, 250, 500, 1,000 or 2,500. A run of 100 suits one person; 500 and up covers a team or a year of networking. Once your artwork passes our check, cards are ready in 5 business days.
