The mat gives it room
A mat border sets the poster back from the frame edge, so the image reads as art, not a notice.

Framed Poster with Mat Board: questions
What does the mat board do on a framed poster?
The mat is the flat board border between the poster and the frame. It gives the eye a rest around the image, which makes the print look considered rather than crowded, and it holds the poster a small distance off the glazing so the two are not pressed flat together.
How should I size my file for a framed poster?
Build it at the finished poster size and keep anything you cannot lose, such as text, logos and faces, at least a half inch inside the edges. A mat overlaps the outer rim of the print by a small amount, so artwork that runs right to the trim can be partly covered.
Can I order two framed posters at once?
Yes. Quantities are 1 or 2, which covers a single piece or a matching pair for either side of a doorway or desk. Each one is printed, matted and framed to order in Mount Ida, Arkansas, and is ready in 5 business days after your file is checked.
