Should I choose laser etching or full-color printing on metal?
Choose etching for logos, names and line art: it gives a permanent, single-tone mark that will not fade. Choose full-color printing when your brand depends on specific colors or you want a photo or gradient on the card. Both are available on stainless steel or aluminum.
How do I prepare artwork for a metal business card?
Build the file at 3.5" x 2" with 0.125" bleed and a 0.125" safe zone. For etching, supply vector artwork in solid black with lines at least 0.5pt; for full color, send a 300 dpi CMYK PDF. Keep in mind that unprinted areas show the bare metal, so plan for silver as a background.
How many metal cards can I order at a time?
Runs are 100, 250, 500, 1,000 or 2,500. A run of 100 or 250 is a common choice for key contacts, with a paper card for everyday hand-outs. Once your artwork passes our file check, cards are ready in 5 business days.
