Which finish makes silver foil stand out most?
Soft touch and matte give the strongest contrast, because the dull surface makes the reflective foil look brighter. Gloss is available but competes with the shine. Dark printed backgrounds, such as navy or black, show silver foil most clearly; on white, use a bold logo or a heavier line weight.
Can silver foil be applied over a printed color?
Yes. Foil sits on top of the printed sheet, so it can go over a solid background or on bare stock. Supply your 3.5" x 2" print file with 0.125" bleed, plus a separate foil layer with the foil areas as solid black vector shapes, kept 0.125" inside the trim and free of hairline strokes.
What is the minimum order for silver foil cards?
The smallest run is 100, and you can also order 250, 500, 1,000 or 2,500. A smaller run works well for one person; reorder once you know the design is right. Cards are ready in 5 business days once your artwork and foil layer pass our file check.
