Why are rack cards 4x9 instead of a regular flyer size?
4" x 9" is the size brochure racks are built for, so the card sits upright with the top of the design showing above the pocket. A letter-size flyer has to be folded to fit and loses that visible header, which is the part a passerby actually reads.
What should go in the top third of a rack card?
The top three inches are often all a passerby sees, so put the name, the offer and a strong image there. Build the file at 4" x 9" vertical with 0.125" bleed and keep text 0.125" inside the trim on both sides.
What quantity of rack cards should I order?
Runs are 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,500. A rack empties faster than most people expect, so count the racks you are stocking and how often you can get back to restock them. Cards are ready in 5 business days after your artwork passes our check.
