Texture on a flat page

Raised ink sits above the surface, so the letterhead is noticed before a word of it is read.

Four papers to choose

24lb and 28lb bond for everyday letters, 70lb offset for weight, or linen for a woven finish.

One, two or full color

A one or two-color mark keeps the look restrained; full color reproduces a detailed logo as designed.

Raised Ink Letterhead: questions

What does raised ink look like next to flat printing?

Raised ink stands slightly above the paper, so it catches light along its edges and you can feel it under a thumb. Flat printing sits level with the sheet. The difference shows most on a logo, a rule or a name across the top of the page.

How should I set up a letterhead file?

Build the page at 8.5" x 11" vertical with 0.125" bleed and keep type 0.25" from the trim. Send vector artwork for your logo. Fine hairlines and very small type hold less detail when the ink is raised, so keep strokes reasonably solid.

How much letterhead should I order at once?

Runs are 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,500 sheets. If a phone number, address or staff list is likely to change, order a smaller run and reprint when it does. Leave the lower two thirds of the sheet clear for the letter itself. Ready in 5 business days.
